
Leonel Castillo
Leonel Castillo is a Guatemalan immigrant and community activist based in Connecticut. Arriving in the U.S. in 1998, he initially intended to stay temporarily but has dedicated his life to supporting vulnerable migrants and advocating for their rights. Over the past eight years, Castillo has built networks of assistance for immigrants while also helping his hometown in Guatemala. As a response to increasing immigration enforcement under the Trump administration, he organizes volunteer efforts to combat misinformation and provide support to those in need, embodying resilience and community solidarity.
