Leonid Ivanovich Grechikhin

Leonid Ivanovich Grechikhin is a 95-year-old professor from Minsk who continues to teach at two academies, sharing his extensive knowledge with master's and doctoral students. Despite his age, he walks three kilometers to work each day, showcasing his remarkable vitality and dedication to education. A former champion of Belarus in water polo, Grechikhin has a rich background in science, having contributed significantly to aerospace engineering, particularly during the early days of space exploration. He was instrumental in the development of technologies for the Vostok-1 mission, including ensuring continuous radio communication and developing thermal protection systems for re-entry.
