Colonel Leonīds Baškardins was the chief of staff of the Russian 155th Naval Infantry Brigade, which has been implicated in war crimes against Ukrainian civilians. He was reported killed during a Ukrainian army strike on a Russian command post in the Korenev region of Kursk Oblast.
