Libertado Mahmoud Khalil

Mahmoud Khalil is a Palestinian activist and former graduate student at Columbia University who garnered significant attention for his pro-Palestinian activism on campus. Recently, he was released from U.S. immigration detention after 104 days, following a federal judge's ruling that deemed his continued detention unjustified. Khalil's case became emblematic of the government's crackdown on dissent and protest, particularly within academic institutions, during the Trump administration. Following his release, he is expected to reunite with his American wife and newborn child in New York.
