Liliuokalani
Liliuokalani was the last reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii, serving from 1891 until the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893. As a strong advocate for Hawaiian sovereignty and cultural preservation, she faced significant challenges from American interests during her reign. After her overthrow, she became a symbol of resistance against colonialism and worked to restore the monarchy until her death in 1917.
