
Lu Qiang
Lu Qiang was a distinguished Chinese engineer and academic, recognized as an expert in automatic control and power system engineering. Born on May 19, 1936, in Wuwei, Anhui, he graduated from Tsinghua University in 1964 and later became a professor there in 1988. Lu was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991 and was instrumental in various significant national research projects, including the development of nonlinear robust stability control for power systems. He was a pioneer in the field, contributing to the establishment of hybrid control theory for power systems and the development of the world's first compressed air energy storage system without supplementary fuel. Lu Qiang passed away on December 23, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and a commitment to scientific inquiry.
