Luis René Canaán Rojas is a Dominican politician and former senator for the Hermanas Mirabal province, recently appointed as the new executive director of the Administradora de Riesgos de Salud para Maestros (ARS SEMMA) by President Luis Abinader. He previously served in the Senate from 2006 to 2020 representing the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) before switching to the Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) in 2023, citing concerns over democratic participation within the PLD.
