Mahmud Amiraliyev

Mahmud Amiraliyev is the head of the Karabudakhkent District in Dagestan, Russia, having been appointed to this position in 2015 and re-elected in 2020. He has recently been in the news due to his arrest on charges of fraud related to a water supply construction project, where it is alleged that he conspired to embezzle over 56 million rubles by offering a contract at 20% of the project cost. Amiraliyev is reported to be related to the former state secretary of Dagestan, Magomed-Sultan Magomedov, who is also implicated in corruption investigations.
