Makoto Himeno

Makoto Himeno is a renowned Japanese chef and the owner of Kappou Makoto, a highly acclaimed restaurant in Murcia, Spain. Born in Kumamoto, Japan, he developed a passion for cooking at a young age while helping his grandmother, the wife of a Buddhist monk, prepare meals for temple funerals. After years of culinary training in Japan and working in various restaurants, including a fusion establishment in Barcelona, he opened his own restaurant in 2019. Kappou Makoto is celebrated for its intimate dining experience and innovative menu, which combines traditional Japanese cuisine with local Murcian ingredients.
