Manssor Arbabsiar

Manssor Arbabsiar is an Iranian-born U.S. citizen who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States in 2011. He was arrested after attempting to hire a hitman from a Mexican drug cartel, who turned out to be a DEA informant. Arbabsiar's case highlighted Iran's involvement in international assassination plots and the lengths to which its operatives would go to target perceived threats on U.S. soil.
