Manuel de los Reyes Manco, also known as 'Lobo', was an esteemed fisherman from Chilca, Peru, who became a local legend for his daring act of heroism in 1872 when he rescued the newly elected president Manuel Pardo from the threats of insurrectionists during a tumultuous political period. Despite his humble background, Manco's bravery not only saved a future leader but also earned him recognition and respect in his community.
