
Marcos Vinicios Rodrigues Vilaça
Marcos Vinicios Rodrigues Vilaça was a distinguished Brazilian lawyer, journalist, poet, and public servant, who served as Minister and President of the Tribunal de Contas da União. Born on June 30, 1939, in Nazaré da Mata, Pernambuco, he was an influential figure in Brazilian culture and politics. A member of the Academia Brasileira de Letras since 1985, he occupied chair 26 and also presided over the institution from 2006 to 2007. Vilaça was known for his literary contributions, including works such as 'Nordeste: Secos & Molhados' and 'Recife Azul, líquido do céu.' He passed away at the age of 85 in Recife, leaving behind a legacy in both literature and public service.
