María Fiódorovna Románova
María Fiódorovna Románova was the last Empress of Russia, born in 1847 in Denmark. She was the daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark and became the wife of Tsar Nicholas II. Known for her strong personality and dedication to charitable causes, she played a significant role in the Russian imperial court. María was deeply beloved by her family and was notably honored with gifts such as the Fabergé Winter Egg, which was commissioned by her son, Nicholas II, in 1913. After the Russian Revolution, she was forced into exile and spent her later years in Denmark, where she died in 1928. Her legacy is intertwined with the tragic history of the Romanov family and the downfall of the Russian monarchy.
