Marija Šelomova

Marija Šelomova, known as Marusja, was the mother of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Born in 1928, she faced a tumultuous early life, including a violent encounter that led to her marriage to Vladimir Spiridonovič Putin. Marija had a significant influence on her son's upbringing, and despite her struggles, she remained a pivotal figure in his life until her passing in 1998.
