Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmedo

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmedo is a prominent Mexican politician and the current governor of Baja California, having taken office in November 2021. As a member of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), she is known for her progressive policies and efforts to improve the welfare of citizens in her state. Prior to her governorship, she served as the mayor of Mexicali. Despite her achievements, her administration has faced scrutiny over alleged connections to organized crime and corruption, particularly concerning customs operations in Tijuana.
