Marita Lorenz was a German-American woman known for her romantic involvement with Cuban leader Fidel Castro in the 1950s, which led to a complex relationship intertwined with espionage and political intrigue. After a brief affair with Castro, during which she became pregnant and later lost the child under mysterious circumstances, she was recruited by the FBI to assassinate him. Despite her attempts to fulfill this mission, she ultimately could not go through with it.
