Marsland

Marsland is the founding director of Capital Management Botswana (CMB) and is currently wanted in Botswana on charges of money laundering, corruption, and fraud related to the mismanagement of a significant investment mandate from the Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF). After being apprehended on an Interpol red notice in 2019, he spent three years in jail fighting extradition. The BPOPF scandal, which emerged in 2018, involved allegations of misappropriation of pension funds amounting to around P200 million. Marsland has consistently claimed that the funds were invested according to the BPOPF's mandate.
