Max Levitas

Max Levitas was a Dubliner known for his participation in the Battle of Cable Street in 1936, where he fought against the British Union of Fascists alongside a diverse coalition of anti-fascists. Growing up in Portobello, an area in Dublin with a significant Jewish community, he was influenced by his trade unionist family and later became a prominent figure in the struggle against fascism during the Spanish Civil War.
