Máximo Franco

Máximo Franco is the president of the Confederación Nacional de Mineros Artesanales del Perú (Confemin) and a prominent figure in the ongoing protests by informal miners in Peru. He is actively campaigning against legislative measures that he believes threaten the livelihoods of small-scale miners and seeks to engage with government officials to amend or repeal regulations that complicate the formalization process for miners in the country.
