Medelin was one of three young sisters tragically murdered in Hermosillo, Sonora, in July 2025. At just nine years old, she was found alongside her sisters, Meredith and Karla, having succumbed to gun violence. The circumstances surrounding their deaths, which included signs of violence and a suspected kidnapping, have drawn national attention and outrage, highlighting issues of safety and violence against children in Mexico.
