Mekidem is a 28-year-old Ethiopian who was trafficked to Myanmar after responding to a fraudulent job offer for data processing. He endured harsh conditions in a holding camp, where he was forced to participate in online scamming operations. Mekidem organized an escape attempt with fellow trafficked individuals, showcasing remarkable courage in the face of adversity. He ultimately managed to secure his release, highlighting the plight of many victims still trapped in similar circumstances.
