Michailo Szelnikow

Michailo Szelnikow is a 52-year-old Ukrainian citizen who has been arrested for the assassination of Andri Parubi, the former Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament. Szelnikow allegedly planned the murder meticulously, disguising himself as a courier to approach Parubi at his home in Lviv. Following the shooting, he intended to flee the country but was apprehended by police in the Khmelnytskyi region. During his confession, he cited personal motives tied to his grievances against the Ukrainian state, while also hinting at a possible connection to Russian influences, given the political context surrounding Parubi's legacy as a prominent Ukrainian nationalist and a vocal opponent of Kremlin actions in Ukraine.
