
Mikhail Kononovich
Mikhail Kononovich, born in the Luninets District, is a Belarusian political activist who has been a prominent figure in Ukraine's communist youth movement. He has been involved in organizing protests against the Ukrainian government and advocating for closer ties between Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. In March 2022, he and his brother were arrested by Ukrainian authorities for allegedly calling for the violent overthrow of the government and for conspiracy related to these actions. They currently face legal proceedings for their activities, which have been supported by Belarusian propaganda.
