Mindon

Mindon was the penultimate king of the Konbaung Dynasty in Myanmar, ruling from 1853 until his death in 1878. He is best known for founding Mandalay in 1857, which served as the last royal capital of Myanmar and was notable for its cultural and economic significance. Mindon was a modernizing ruler who introduced various reforms, including the establishment of a postal service and the promotion of education and infrastructure.
