Mohamed Anwar Sadat
Mohamed Anwar Sadat was the third President of Egypt, serving from 1970 until his assassination in 1981. He is best known for his role in the 1973 Yom Kippur War against Israel and for initiating the peace process that led to the Camp David Accords in 1978. Sadat's leadership marked a significant shift in Egyptian foreign policy, moving towards a more pro-Western stance and seeking to improve relations with the United States.
