Mondaire Jones
Mondaire Jones is an American attorney and politician who served as the U.S. Representative for New York's 17th congressional district from 2021 to 2023. As one of the first openly gay Black members of Congress, Jones has been a vocal advocate for progressive causes, including criminal justice reform and environmental justice. In 2024, he lost his bid for reelection to Republican Mike Lawler, who is perceived as a strong candidate in the district.
