Professor Moti Golani was a prominent Israeli historian and scholar, known for his extensive research in the fields of Zionism and Jewish history. Born and raised in Kibbutz Gvat Brenner, he obtained his degrees in International Relations and Jewish Studies, culminating in a Ph.D. from the University of Haifa. Throughout his career, Golani held various academic positions, including the head of the Department of Land of Israel Studies at the University of Haifa and later at Tel Aviv University, where he also led the Department of Jewish History. He authored numerous books and articles, contributing significantly to the understanding of Israeli military history and Jewish identity. Tragically, Golani passed away following an accident while hiking with his family in the Ramat Menashe area.
