Throughout his career, Gümüşkaya made significant contributions to Turkish theatre, including serving as the director of Bursa Ahmet Vefik Paşa State Theatre and as an artistic consultant for Osmangazi Municipality. He passed away due to respiratory failure while being treated in a hospital in Pendik.
