
Murad I
Murad I was the Ottoman Sultan from 1362 to 1389, credited with establishing the foundations of Ottoman power in the Balkans. He led successful military campaigns against Serbia and Bulgaria, most notably the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. His reign marked the transition of the Ottoman Empire from a principality to a formidable empire, and he was the father of Baiazid I.
