Muwafaq al-Rubaie is a prominent Iraqi politician and physician, born in 1948 in Al-Kut. He served as Iraq's National Security Advisor from 2004 to 2009 during the tumultuous period following the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime. After studying medicine at Baghdad University, he became an opponent of the previous regime and later settled in the UK, where he earned a doctorate in medicine.
