Mykola Liubarets
Mykola Liubarets is a 31-year-old Ukrainian pilot and a hero known for his courageous actions during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. As a lieutenant colonel in the 18th Army Aviation Brigade named after Igor Sikorsky, he was instrumental in carrying out a daring helicopter mission to deliver supplies and evacuate wounded soldiers from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol in March 2022. His personal motivation for the mission was to check on his wife, Yuliia, who was working as a military anesthesiologist in the plant. Despite the danger, Liubarets completed the mission and was later awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for his bravery.
