
Nafisa To‘xtayeva
Nafisa To‘xtayeva was a renowned Uzbek folk artist and maqom singer, celebrated for her contributions to traditional music. Born in 1942 in Tashkent into a family of artists, she received formal musical education and began her career at the Uzbekistan State Philharmonic in 1963. To‘xtayeva was a prominent member of the Yunus Rajabiy 'Maqom' ensemble from 1978 to 1985, where she recorded over 50 classical music pieces that became part of the 'Golden Fund' of Uzbek music. Her popular songs, including 'Saraxbori Oromijon' and 'Ey Nazokat', resonate deeply with audiences, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. She passed away at the age of 83, as announced by the Ministry of Culture on February 21, 2023.
