Natalia Levaya

Natalia Levaya, a 39-year-old artist from Kobrin, Belarus, gained media attention after being sentenced to six years in prison for her financial contributions to organizations deemed extremist by the Belarusian government. After living and working in Poland, she returned to Belarus in 2024, despite warnings from friends. Following her arrest in May 2024, it was revealed that she had donated approximately 4,400 Belarusian rubles to various groups, leading to her conviction on multiple charges. While incarcerated, Natalia became pregnant, drawing concern and support from fellow inmates and the public, as she awaits the birth of her child in a challenging prison environment.
