Nelsy Milagros Cruz Martínez, born on August 6, 1982, was the governor of Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic. She was a dedicated public servant who took office in August 2020, aiming to enhance the province's tourism and address the needs of its citizens. Cruz Martínez was also known for her background in design, graduating from the Escuela de Diseño Chavón, and recently completed a diploma in public speaking. Tragically, she passed away on April 8, 2025, following injuries sustained during the collapse of the Jet Set nightclub, where she heroically alerted emergency services while trapped under debris.
