Nestor Mendes is the Assistant Secretary-General of the Organisation of American States (OAS) and co-chair of the Pan American Health Organisation’s High-Level Commission on Mental Health and COVID-19, where he advocates for mental health reform and emphasizes the urgent need for comprehensive policies and increased funding in response to the mental health crisis in the Americas.
