Nidia Solano Brenes

Nidia Solano Brenes is a prominent Costa Rican public servant, having previously served as the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security in the Social Solidarity Economy area during the administration of Carlos Alvarado from 2018 to 2022. She has also been involved in various governmental and financial institutions, including the National Cooperative Promotion Institute and the Board of National Teacher's Pensions. Recently, she made headlines after being appointed to the board of directors of Banco Popular by the government of Rodrigo Chaves in September 2022, which raised questions regarding potential conflicts of interest as her husband was subsequently appointed to the board of the competing Banco Nacional.
