Oleksiy Mazurenko

Oleksiy Mazurenko is a Ukrainian sergeant who was sentenced to 26 years in a Russian court for alleged terrorist acts. Before the conflict escalated, he lived in the city of Sumy with his partner and two young children. During his court statements, Mazurenko asserted that his military actions were directed by his superiors and aimed at military objectives, not civilians.
