Orla McLaughlin

Orla McLaughlin is an accomplished educator and program manager at Venice International University, where she engages with students and scholars from around the globe. Originally from Greystones, Ireland, she pursued her studies in Italian and Politics at University College Dublin before returning to Italy for further education in European studies. With a diverse background in film production, theatre, and translation, she has spent decades cultivating a rich life in Venice, where she balances her professional aspirations with family life alongside her husband, Sebastiano, and their three bilingual children. Passionate about the cultural and educational opportunities in Venice, she is also involved in a family business that designs and sells Murano glass chandeliers.
