Oseguera Cervantes, also known as 'El Mencho', was a notorious Mexican drug lord and the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). He was considered one of the most wanted criminals in both Mexico and the United States, with a substantial bounty placed on his capture. His criminal activities contributed significantly to the wave of violence in Jalisco and surrounding regions, which intensified following his death during a police operation in Tapalpa.
