Osman Pazvantoglu was a rebellious pasha of Vidin, known for his bold and often violent incursions into Wallachia during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His actions exacerbated the instability in the region, contributing to widespread suffering among the local population, particularly in the lead-up to the devastating earthquake of 1802.
