Otto Lazar
Otto Lazar was born on June 22, 1891, in Vienna, as the youngest of eight children in a Jewish family deeply integrated into Austrian culture. His father, Adolf Josef Lazar, was an engineer and director of the Austrian local railway, while his mother, Theresia Cäsarine Lazar, was a homemaker. Otto's life was marked by the rise of National Socialism, leading him to flee to Sweden to escape persecution. His family included several notable siblings, including Ernst, a lawyer, and Erwin, a child psychiatrist, as well as two sisters who were writers. Otto's story reflects the struggles faced by many intellectuals during this tumultuous period in European history.
