Papa Bento XVI
Pope Benedict XVI, born Joseph Ratzinger, was the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 2005 until his resignation in 2013. He was known for his theological scholarship and conservative stance on many issues, and he appointed Dom Teodoro Mendes Tavares as auxiliary bishop of Belém do Pará in 2011 during his papacy.
