Pedro Arias de Ávila

Pedro Arias de Ávila, also known as Pedrarias, was a Spanish governor and conquistador who played a crucial role in the early Spanish conquests in Central America. He served as the first governor of Castilla del Oro and was instrumental in the establishment of the first diocese in the Americas in Santa María la Antigua.
