Penyo Atanasov Kolev, known by the nickname 'Bombeto,' was a skilled Bulgarian builder born in 1902 in the village of Dralfa. Renowned for his exceptional talent in construction, he played a pivotal role in the construction of the Shipka Monument, a significant memorial commemorating Bulgaria's liberation. His journey began at a young age, working alongside his father in construction projects in Istanbul and Romania. Despite lacking formal qualifications, his ingenuity and problem-solving skills earned him respect and recognition among architects. Kolev's dedication to completing the monument in challenging conditions demonstrated his commitment to honoring the sacrifices of Bulgarian soldiers, and he remained a proud yet humble craftsman throughout his life, passing away in 1987.
