Persis Karim

Persis Karim is a professor and the Neda Nobari Chair of the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies at San Francisco State University. With family ties in Iran, she has been vocal about the fears faced by those in the country amid escalating military actions, condemning both U.S. and Israeli policies that she believes exacerbate the struggles of ordinary Iranians. Karim critiques the notion that external military force can empower the Iranian populace to rise against their government, arguing that such actions often lead to increased oppression.
