Peter Stuyvesant

Peter Stuyvesant was the last Dutch director-general of the colony of New Amsterdam, serving from 1647 until its capture by the English in 1664. Known for his strong leadership and determination, Stuyvesant faced numerous challenges during his tenure, including conflicts with local Native American tribes and the growing tensions with English settlers.
