Peter Winkler

Peter Winkler is a former delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who was kidnapped in November 1988 by militants in Lebanon while working in the region. His captivity ended shortly after the UN General Assembly was moved to Geneva, where PLO leader Yasir Arafat intervened to secure his release, which significantly influenced the dynamics of the Middle East conflict.
