Pierre Laporte
Pierre Laporte was a Canadian politician and member of the Quebec Liberal Party who served as a cabinet minister. He became widely known during the October Crisis of 1970 when he was kidnapped and subsequently murdered by the Front de libération du Québec (FLQ), an event that shocked the nation and highlighted the political tensions in Quebec.
