
Pío Décimo
Pope Pius X, born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, served as pope from 1903 until his death in 1914. He is best known for his efforts to reform the Church, including the codification of canon law and the promotion of liturgical reforms. Pius X was canonized in 1954 and is remembered for his strong stance against modernism in the Church, as well as for his compassion towards the poor and emphasis on the importance of the Eucharist.
