Pitirim is an influential bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church who has recently taken a strong stance in favor of a campaign to bury Vladimir Lenin, referring to the former leader as a 'fanatic' and promoting the idea that Lenin's body should no longer be on display in the mausoleum in Red Square.
